Nimrod Bodfish, 29, of Atqasuk, pleaded guilty to the class A misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and reached a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspended. He's been sentenced to a fine of $1,500, due within one year. He must also pay a police training surcharge of $75 and an initial jail surcharge of $50. He will also be responsible for covering the cost of imprisonment. Additionally, Bodfish has been ordered to contact North Slope Borough Behavioral Health and complete a screening, evaluation, and recommended treatment and submit proof of completion to the court by next September. His driver's license has been revoked for 90 days and he has been placed on probation for one year, during which time he may not possess, consume or buy alcohol, by order of Magistrate Judge David Roghair, effective Nov. 6.

Aldin L. Ridley, 30, of Utqiaġvik, pleaded guilty to the class A misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree for causing reckless injury and reached a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all 30 days suspended. He must pay a $50 police training surcharge and an initial jail surcharge of $50. He has been ordered to contact North Slope Borough Behavioral Health for a treatment needs assessment and complete a screening, evaluation, and recommended program and provide proof of compliance with the court by next September. He has been placed on probation for one year, during which time he may not "consume alcohol to excess," by order of Magistrate Judge David Roghair, effective Nov. 6.
