School district in need of bus drivers

The North Slope Borough School District is in search of school bus drivers for its students.

According to a notice posted on the district's website, there are both full-time and substitute driver positions open that give employees the chance to "work the same days your children are in school."

For accepted applicants who only have a standard driver's license, the district notes paid training is available for people to get their commercial driver's licenses with both passenger and school bus endorsements for Alaska.

The starting wage for the position is listed at $24.32 per hour.
