At 11:37 pm, a village police officer with the Selawik Police Department called and requested assistance with a male suspect that fled when he contacted him about consuming alcohol under age. The village police officer was shoved, at which time he fell and injured his thumb and elbow and the suspect fled on foot. The village police officer was treated at the Selawik Clinic, and then resumed his search for the suspect. The village police officer located the suspect at which time the suspect attempted to punch the village police officer. This time, the village police officer successfully subdued and arrested the suspect. The suspect was identified as Lawrence Foster Jr., (18) of Selawik. Foster was arrested for Assault in the 4th degree and was also charged with Minor Consuming Alcohol.

On Friday, the North Slope Borough Police Officers in Barrow contacted Nathan Snow (20), in the area of Stephenson Street. Snow was found to be in possession of 104 grams of marijuana packaged for sale and distribution and .3 grams of Hashish. Officers seized the marijuana and placed Snow under arrest for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance and the 4th degree, which is a class C felony offence and is punishable by up to 5 years in jail and a fine up to $50,000. The estimated street value of the marijuana seized was $6,900.
